Dr. Andrew M. Leeds, Ph.D. is a California licensed Psychologist and Marriage and Family Therapist with over 35 years of private practice psychotherapy experience. He maintains a full-time practice in Santa Rosa, California where he specializes in the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression and dissociative disorders, and provides relationship counseling. He also provides group and individual consultation for clinicians regarding the application of EMDR.

Dr. Leeds is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Instructor in EMDR and an EMDR Europe accredited EMDR trainer. He has conducted EMDR training for more than 13,000 clinicians at some 135 training programs in the United States, Canada, France, England and Japan. Dr. Leeds received initial training in EMDR in 1991. He is the author of A Guide to the Standard EMDR Therapy Protocols for Clinicians, Supervisors, and Consultants, 2nd Ed. (2016, Springer Publishing Company: New York) book chapters and journal articles.

  • Rebeca Baculpo, L.C.S.W

    Rebeca Baculpo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Alameda, California. She is a bicultural, Spanish speaking therapist working with adults with childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety, issues with life transitions, in addition to conducting mental health evaluations for immigration proceedings. Additionally, Mrs. Baculpo works as the Licensed Clinician for The Latino Commission, a drug treatment program in the Bay Area. Since 2003, she has been working with a wide range of populations, particularly foster children, domestic violence survivors, addiction, traumatized groups, and immigrant populations.

  • Brenda Frechette, Ph.D.

    Brenda Frechette, Ph.D., is in private practice in northern California after 40 years of public service in community agencies. She specializes in treating complex trauma as well as working with first responders. Her career includes serving adults and children experiencing psychiatric emergencies, addictions, and trauma. She has worked in community mental health and addiction programs, the Veteran’s Administration, and the California prison system. She currently serves as adjunct faculty in graduate counseling programs in northern California.

    Brenda earned her M.A. in counseling at Northern Arizona University and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is certified in EMDR and is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She also has extensive training in clinical hypnosis, somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and cognitive processing therapy.

  • Christina Narensky, Psy.D.

    Christina Narensky, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist, who is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Trainer and Certified in EMDR. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Smith College in Massachusetts, and her Doctorate in Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. Since 2014, she has had a private practice in Alameda California where she provides trauma-informed care for a variety of clinical concerns in her work with adolescents, adults and families. Christina has a background in community mental health, school-based counseling, and juvenile justice. She brings her experience as both a collegiate and post graduate instructor, and as a clinical supervisor to her work with Sonoma PTI.

  • Kevin Edward Rowland, MS, LCSW

    Kevin Edward Rowland, MS, LCSW has been a mental health professional for over 25 years. He currently works in private practice in San Francisco and Oakland providing trauma informed psychotherapy to adults. He specializes in treating Attachment Trauma and Addictions.

    He received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of California and his M.S.W. from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York. His career has included working for internal and external Employee Assistance Programs as well as treating Addictions in a variety of modalities including private practice. He was trained in EMDR in 2013. He is EMDRIA Certified in EMDR and is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant. He is deeply impressed by the healing power of EMDR and utilizes it as often as possible.

    Dena Robertson, MA, LMFT is in private practice near Sacramento in Folsom, CA. She is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and an EMDRIA Certified Clinician. Her practice is built on years of clinical experience, consultation, and specialty training.

    Jorin Bukosky, LCSW is the co-founder of the group practice Within Reach Psychotherapy. His clinical work focuses on the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Additionally, Jorin works as the clinic coordinator for the Menlo Park Veterans Administrations PTSD Clinical Team providing evidence-based treatments for Post-Traumatic Stress to Veterans.

    JoAnne Singh, LMHC, owns the group practice, Fully Integrated Psychotherapy, and Consultation. She is a non-judgmental psychotherapist practicing in New York. She has experience treating minors and adults since 2006. She aims to provide individualized mental health care via telehealth, making you safe and heard.

    JoAnne has specialized training in ego state/parts work, internal family systems (IFS), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). JoAnne is an EMDR-certified therapist, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and a teaching assistant for the Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute for EMDR basic training.     Yvonne O'Brien, MA LMFT is an EMDR Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training through EMDRIA, the EMDR International Association. Her basic EMDR training was with Sonoma Psychotherapy Institute in 2017. In addition to EMDR therapy, she uses CBT, DBT and client centered modalities. She provides treatment for grief and loss bereavement, anxiety, depression, workplace stress, life transitions, living with or supporting a person with acute mental health condition, trauma, domestic violence, and teen dating violence.

Sonoma Psychotherapy Training Institute provides evidence-based, post-graduate education and training in the diagnosis and treatment of survivors of trauma and neglect through public workshops and home study programs.

Sonoma PTI conducts scholarly research that supports the development and delivery of high quality educational and training programs.

We are committed to foster understanding, compassion and competence in clinical assessment and treatment of childhood neglect and abuse and lifespan trauma.

We promote the use of findings and principles from positive psychology in prevention and treatment programs.

We strive to maintain the highest standards of scholarship for historical depth and recent findings.

Our programs present context on issues where there is current consensus as well as where there is scholarly disagreement.

  • Licensed Training Sites

    The SonomaPTI training model is now being licensed to select, highly qualified EMDR International Association Approved Consultants. These EMDRIA approved providers of basic training meet EMDRIA standards and are separate business. They use the same training format as our original Northern California program.

    They schedule four two-day weekends about four weeks apart with consultation sessions included. They use the same participant manual and the same presentation slides.
